Hi,
I’ll try to be short (and clear) as possible…
I’m having 2 midi tracks in Cubase:
1st: in = EZPlayer; out = DFHS; midi = 10; midi map = DFHS
2nd: in = EZPlayer; out = S2; midi = 11; midi map = S2
Q1)Now to be able to hear EZP using any one of these vsti I have to enable the monitor button. Is that normal in all cases? (manual page 33 doesn’t say that I should enable the monitor button)
Q2)In EZplayer, is it possible to play the track 1 (having midi grooves of course) using DFHS only
& to play the track 2 using S2 only, and all together?
Wathever I tried, each tracks from EZP are feeding both vsti. In fact the midi out channel selection from EZP seems to change nothing here. What I’m missing?
Thanks,
rw

Ok, I did the same setup using Toontrack solo and my tracks are triggering fine!
So it seems that something is not going well inside Cubase 4. Maybe have to wait the upcoming update of C4 and see if the problem remains. In meantime I will try the same setup using SX3 and see how EZP is going there…
looking foward….

you have to setup input transformers to filter out all channels but one. Cubase includes presets just for that purpose.

Excellent! I was really thinking that the Cubase drum map settings alone should works!
That could be a nice add infos in pdf for Steiny products…
thanks!

EZP seems to change nothing here
…same here… what are input transformers and where can I find them?
Cheers,

Sorry, I couldn’t find “input transformers” in the Cubase manual. Could you name the respective topic or give a quick run through the necessary steps?

Thanks a lot, I found it now. It’s actually Chapter 28 of the Cubase 4 Operation Manual: “Logical-Editor, Transformer and Input Transformer.” (I had only the German manual at hand before).
Now if I choose the preset “Channel Filtering -> Pass CH 10” and set the EZPlayer track to channel 10
I can hear the Drums. Choose any other EZPlayer channel and the signal will not pass through.
However, if I change the channel settings in Cubase’s MIDI tracks and not in EZPlayer, it has no effect and the signal is still passing through.
Is that’ how it’s supposed to be?
Cheers,
M.
Yes that is. I think that most vsti are omni midi channel ins unless filtering available inside the vsti (like Halion3, or even external synth like my old D-50)
