Hi, I started using EZ in Cubase SX3, had the drag & drop issue where every D&D would open a new instrument track and a slew of midi tracks. After reading around, I saw some posts that indicated this would not be a problem with Cubase 4, that I would be able to put all the “grooves and clips” on one track. Well, now that I spent $500 on Cubase 4, its still happening. Is it something I’m doing wrong or is the a setting I need to change? Would I be looking for problems by dragging the new clips to the 1st track and then deleting the others tracks that were created? Thanks for any assistance!
Hi,
go to : File > Preferences > MIDI > MIDI File > Uncheck Auto Dissolve Format 0
You may also have to uncheck ‘Import to Instrument tracks’.

Awsome! That took care of it. Thank you. (now I’m wondering if that would have worked in SX3… oh well it was time to upgrade anyway…!) Thanks again!
