There are several ways to do it.
Make sure you copy the midi to the 2nd instance, (sounded like the 2nd instance had no midi.could be a cubase trick not sure)
Unload the sound on the instance you are not wanting to hear.
On the 2nd instance once you select an EZx you should unload the whole kit and the re-load edit > Only < the Ride cymbal

That should be it and is the fastest way to go about it.

Thanks, Juicy. When you say “unload the sound”, you mean you can unload in individual cymbal sounds, for example? How do you unload a single sound?

Ignore that, Juicy. I assume you mean you select “None” for that note.

    I just figured it out.
Your suggestion – about copying the MIDI and not using the sounds in each instance that I don’t want – sorts the MIDI side of things out.
But there was also a routing problem. I had to also set the output on the tracks of the second instance to track 2.
    Got it working now. Thanks

Working for you that’s what we want.

What i like about LogicPro, off the bat you don’t have to think about those things unless you need to, it’s automatic.
it’s a new AU, so just another midi instrument track/channel all ready to go.
They are mutually exclusive only linked in this case by the intended use of the user.
