So I’ve been trying to send in a support request for 2 days and I’m getting some kind of server error. So I’ve decided to post it on here as well.
This is related to using the midi grooves that come with the EZX Latin Cuban Percussion I recently purchased. The problem I have discovered is when I drag-and-drop for example a conga groove into Nuendo, Samplitude or Reaper the individual hits show up in the midi editor as different midi notes depending on the type of hit/articulation. Exactly as they are shown in the SD3 drum editor. However I’ve noticed when I drag-and-drop the tambourine grooves or Shaker grooves into any of these DAW’s, despite the individual articulations showing in the SD3 drum editor, when opening them in the midi editor of any of these DAW’s, the different hits/articulations are only showing up as one row of midi notes meaning I can’t edit the individual hits. I tried exporting these grooves as MIDI files besides dragging and dropping and I always end up with one row of notes instead of the individual midi notes as shown in the SD3 midi editor. I’ve uploaded screenshots of a conga groove as displayed in SD3 and Nuendo 12. Compared to a tambourine groove as displayed in SD3 and Nuendo 12. Notice that the individual tambourine hits are not displayed correctly in Nuendo 12. I also made a video.
Incidentally the tambourine/Shaker grooves of EZX Latin Percussion do translate correctly. The problem seems isolated to EZX Latin Cuban Percussion tambourine/Shaker grooves.

OK so for anyone interested I have heard back from support. It seems that tambourines and shakers for this particular EZX use something called “Future Hits” which if I understand correctly can only be edited in the SD3 midi editor or using “Edit Play Style”. Dragging and dropping this midi into a DAW doesn’t show the individual articulations and in this case they need to be controlled by changing the velocity from what I understand.
Regards
Martin
