Creating Intros

I hate to even ask, because obviously we have a lot of experienced users here, and this is going to sound beyond beginner level, but is there a way to just tap out intros and fills with a  keyboard or midi device?

My band has recorded songs with the whole drum tracks done with an electric kit. I’ve programmed intros and fills with a trackpad. All have been played back and exported through ezdrummer.

Sure you can. In the case of a MIDI Pad controller, you can do it almost similar to how a drummer would do it (keeping in mind obvious differences).

You can use the Tap2Find feature which is on the Grooves Tab, and simply drag what you created with your keyboard or mouse to the Song Track (timeline).

You can record right into the Song Track as well. Just hit Record/Play and tap with your mouse or keyboard.
