I have successfully installed and run EZ Drummer and Superior Drummer with no issues. But just bought BeatStation and installed latest version and the Core Content. Registration ran normally.
The first launch, app said it couldn’t find core content, even though I did the default install. It ran EZ packs OK. So I quit, reinstalled core content, and the app started crashing.
Everytime I launch the program (32 bit mode Snow Leopard 10.6.6) the program crashes and brings up an error screen for reporting to Apple. Everytime.
Please help.
Also discovered when launching Logic Pro, the AU checker also crashes now.
Very ill-behaved so far, this Beat Station.
OK. I deauthorized, deinstalled everything, then re-downloaded, reinstalled the app and the core content (installed using defaults and default locations).
The application STILL crashes with a “Beatstation Quit Unexpectedly” report to Apple. Everytime.
I have never encountered this any application in many years of Mac usage, so I am surprised this keeps happening.

right, as far as I can tell you have never downloaded the full Beatstation program. This could be normal if you have a physical disc, but this would explain the initial complain that the core content was missing.
In any case, I recommend you download the most recent ‘electronic’ version from the site, before patching it to 1.0.2 (both engine and content).
You can download the full product by clicking the big ‘red’ Mac button just under the Beatstation license.

Ah, that explains it. The program was somehow running originally because I had the demo installed. But after installing the update, things went south. When I deinstalled, and reinstalled I assumed the 1.0.2 update was the full meal based on its title and file size. My bad, and my apologies for any drama. I am downloading the BIG master file now, and expect all to be well.
BTW, I bought the full app based on the demo and was very impressed by the flexibility of the program and ability to use my entire EZD and SD libraries + my own samples and existing libraries.
I do wish their was more there for velocity support: the ability to define or select different velocity response curves (like in Superior), or the ability to import velocity layers per pad.
