Can you drag MIDI from SD3 to the desktop? If not, there could be an issue with permissions in C:\ProgramData\Toontrack\Superior3, where temporary files are created for drags.

It’s weird, some files I can, some I can’t. If I drag a clip in the SD3 timeline it won’t allow me to drag anything to the desktop. How do I fix the premissions issue?

    Thanks so much

I figured out the permissions thing. That folder didn’t have write permissions. That was the problem. Must have been a Windows 10 update that changed the settings. The only thing that’s not working now is if I edit a pattern in the SD3 grid editor and then try to drag it in, it just transfers a standard beat, not what I edited. Thanks for your help.

This probably means that some old MIDI file is in C:\ProgramData\Toontrack\Superior3 and is write-protected. Delete all .mid files from there to fix it.

I did as you suggested and it worked. I set up the folder so it wouldn’t be write protected, and deleted all the files. But as soon as I do 1 edit on a new project. It starts the problem all over again after the first edit. Looks like I will have to keep clearing out that folder.

Please open Properties for the Superior3 folder, go to Security > Advanced, adjust the size of the Advanced window so that the entire list there is visible, take a screenshot of the window and attach it here.

Fixed it! There are 3 sections for  System, Administrators and Users under Security.  All the permissions were not checked under the Users section. I checked them all and now it seems to be working correctly. Damn Windows 10 updates, it’s the only thing I can think of that would have changed that without my knowledge. Thank you again, it was driving me nuts.
