The standalone is a wrapper for the plugins. Did you delete the plugins from your Mac? If not, they may be corrupt.

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling Superior Drummer via the PM?

    Hi,

I have SD3 standalone on a Mac. I got the error message:
“The Superior Drummer 3 plug-in could not be found.
Please quit this application and reinstall Superior Drummer 3.”

I tried it several times to reinstall. Without success. I tried also the pkgutil –forget com.toontrack.superior.app.pkg command.

Any tips how the get SD3 back to live again?

    Thanks

    Holger

I turns out, the harddisk has failures. So I got a new 1TB SSD and put 8 GB more RAM in it. I installed High Sierra instead El Capitan on the Mac (Mid 2011). SD3 runs without problems in the latest Version now:-)

    Hi there,

Did you recently update SD3 to 3.3.7? If yes, what version were you running before and… was it working?

OS X El Capitan (10.11)… that’s…. quite a ways back. I may have had hair then!

El Capitan is probably one of the worst Mac OS releases ever. There is a reason it’s often called El Crapitan. Supposedly SD3 is usable back to OSX 10.10.x but I’d not trust that. Did SD3 ever work on your system (and if it did what revision of SD3?)? Did you let the installer put the bits and pieces where it wanted (except for maybe the samples)?

    Thanks for all the help.

It works with 3.3.6 but not with 3.3.7.

And yes, it worked for years (3 – 4 up to now) with this Mac and I hope I can use it one or two years longer:-) It is used only for live gigs about 30 times a year with eDrumin10 and a Tascam20x20 Interface with a custom build hybrid drumset.

For now I would roll back to 3.3.6 and not update. Put in a trouble ticket through Support> FAQ/Contact Support at the top of this page.
