I get this error on Windows 7 64-bit, AMD processor, 16gb RAM, 1TB HDD etc…
“Could not copy “Midi/18@EZX_METAL_MACHINE/kitpieces”
EZD is already installed and works just fine, I’d like to be able to use my expansion packs though? I also emailed about a month ago… still no response at all.
Hi,
do you have full read/write access to the ‘C:Program Files (x86)Common FilesToontrackEZdrummer’ folder and subfolders?
Is this when installing the full 1.1.1 Metal Machine product or 1.5.1 update?
BTW, which version number is displayed in your EZdrummer plugin?

Hi John,
Thank you for the swift reply, I clearly was not ready for that :x.
I have full permissions, I have even tried installing using the Administrator account. I am installing the full 1.1.1 Metal Machine product when this happens.
I have version 2.0.2.0 of EZDrummer installed. And the EZX of course 1.1.1 and 1.5.1 update.

My advice, FWIW, is to install the latest update for EZD2, which is 2.1.1.
Then install your Metal Machine EZX and its updates.
Yeah… not working either. Fully updated, everything authorized :(.
Uninstalled and reinstalled everything also.
Hi Tap,
I am asking my colleagues for help on this, haven’t forgotten about you.
Did you check if that folder in question is hidden or read-only?

More specifically:
Does the folder C:Program Files (x86)Common FilesToontrackEZDrummerMidi18@EZX_METAL_MACHINE exist? If so, does it contain any files or folders? If the file “kitpieces” is there, what is its size and does it have the Read-only attribute in Properties?

Thanks John,
At this point I really don’t know. Only have stupid problems like this on Windows. It worked perfectly fine, in seconds on my MacBook. I’m considering just using Windows 8 and seeing if that makes a difference.
