I’ve noticed there are a whole bunch of EZKeys related updates via the Toontrack Product Manager, including updates to the Core Library, numerous MIDI Packs, Pianos and the main application itself.
Questions…
(1) Are the updates to the MIDI packs and Core library just very minor things like typos and MIDI note sustains or something? They are just very small adjustments to the existing content, and no additional variations, right?
(2) Are the updates to Piano libraries something that is related to them being compatible with the upcoming EZKeys 2, or are there actual changes to the samples?
(3) Most importantly, is updating the pianos and main application going to change the condition of demo pianos continuing to work in trial mode? I have always liked the feature of being able to continue using the demo pianos with the detuning every few minutes, and I aim to soon buy the uprights which I’d like to add to my EZKeys 2 piano library, but I don’t want to lose the ability to continue working with them in demo mode in EZKeys 1 until I have done so. I got the impression from another user on this forum that maybe that feature is no longer active?
It sure would be nice if the Update Installation Info for each product in the Toontrack Product Manager would also contain a summary of what things had been changed.
I am still running EZKeys 1.2.5 and I have no idea what to expect jumping up 5 versions to 1.3.4.
Thanks in advance,
Zedd
I didn’t get any answer to this, in particular #3.
Let me try again, with a rephrase of #3 and a related EZKeys 2 question.
Is installing the latest version of EZKeys 1.3.4 going to wipe out the piano EZX trial demos that I have, so that they will no longer work with the detune every 3 minutes? I don’t use them very often, and the one that I do use most often is something I am planning to buy sometime soon… but in the meantime I don’t want to end up disabling my working trial demos.
Also, I noticed that now all of those trial piano EZXs are showing up in EZKeys 2, but when I log in and try to authorize them, it doesn’t see them as trial demos and just tells me that I don’t have a license for them. That’s fine… is there any way that I can removed them from being listed in EZKeys 2 without removing them from my hard drive and making them unavailable to EZKeys 1.2.5?
In the end I am happy to remove all the trial demos… but not before I purchase the 2 or 3 pianos that I will probably end up buying. I have done some personal reference demos that use those piano sounds, and if I wanted to revisit those demos I would want to be able to hear the same piano sound if I haven’t yet purchased the EZX.
Thanks in advance,
Zedd
Hi,
Installing EZkeys 1.3.4 will not remove the EZkeys demo libraries.
There is no way to remove them from being listed in EZkeys 2 other than deleting them from the hard drive, sorry.
The sound library updates contain at least some adjustments/fixes of effect knob labels and tooltips. I don’t know much more about the updates. Minor adjustments mostly, I guess, and no new content.
