I create music for a music library that wants me to include stems for them in case a client requests them. They advise me not to include “even one bar of unaccompanied samples. Therefore, if I create a drum track with EZ Drummer, I should not include it as a separate track by itself? What if I also include the track with other samples, like maracas or conga drums (samples, also), meaning that it is “accompanied” by other instruments. Does this change the definition? Just looking to understand what I can and cannot do. Thanks in advance for your reply…
Hi,
I think what they mean is that you shouldn’t have individual instruments soloed. A Drum track Stem is no problem. Individual hits e.g. for the Snare or Kick, would be. It would also risk breaking the Toontrack license agreement.
Sounds used in context is never a problem.
