I have SDX Progressive and obviously SD3 and cannot see how to copy mixer channel presets from one to the other – I can add in drums from each but not channel presets. I realise this cannot be done with Kick and snare as as they have diferent number of microphones but was wondering if this can be done for say toms where same number of microphones exist. Or is this just not possible and SD3 core library will always be separate to any SDX libraries in term of copying channel presets ?
In which case I would need to “process” SDX drums in SD3 (and vice versa) to get similar sounds in each ?
Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi,
you can always select a channel with one library and preset loaded and then go to ‘Channel Effects’ and ‘Save As…’ then switch to your other Library and recall that Channel Effects preset.
The User Channel Effects presets can be organised in folders and subfolders in the Finder/Explorer via the same Menu.

John please tell me this was recently introduced. I’ve been clamouring for this feature for the longest of time only to find it under my nose.
This is going to save me tons of time on a drum mix!

Hi jord,
I’m afraid this has been possible since the start, if you mean to be able to save Mixer Channel Effects Presets.

John

That’s exactly what I mean, John.
And I am today years old when I realized it was there all along, with credit to you pointing it out. Nevertheless, my life has been made that much easier with it.

This works beautifully. Thanks again John
cheers, Andrew
