My own solution is to set up an additional x drum based on one of the toms and then adjust pitch, envelope etc to get it to sound like a higher (or lower) tuned version of the original tom. It will also keep similar ambience channels which you can also adjust. I have attached a previous example I posted a while ago where I have turned a Rooms of Hansa rack/floor kit into a 3 rack/2 floor user kit and I have done similar in all my SDX’s (including LOR). I sometimes play around with the concept of which tom to adjust and just work out what gives me the best and most realistic 5 tom kit (and I now do 6 toms on most). Hope this helps. Cheers, Andrew.

I am an e-drummer with a 5 tom (3 x rack and 2 x floor) pad setup so I do this all the time. I create a user instrument based on a racktom or floortom that I like and then I tune these up (or down) accordingly to get the sound I want. I also use other property box presets and effects (eg envelope, effects, transients etc) to dial in a “natural” extra tom sound that fits in with the other toms – I often find that I need more than just tuning up/down to get a tom to sound “right”. I have even “converted” some 2 tom setups in Hansa to give me 5 tom user kits.

I use “add instrument” and “search for instrument” so it loads the tom and appropriate channel setting. I have attached a screen shot to show so you can see my extra floortom complete with channel information and how I have tuned this one down.

    Hope this helps.
