You should get yourself an external drive and put your libraries on it and point your computers to it. it won’t be any performance issues since all of the kit pieces are loaded into RAM.

Isn’t that only if you have SD3 load all to ram?

    Hey Jack Happy New Year!

By default SD3, and all Toontrack sample software for that matter, are designed to load and run from RAM. SD3 can be run in cache mode, but even on a fast SSD, this will introduce some latency as the software goes out to disk, extracts the samples from the .obw file and loads into RAM.

And a Happy New Year back at ya Brad!

I’m used to programs that run cached mode by default. The people I feel sorry for are those on M1/M2 Macs with limited non-upgradable ram. The Death & Darkness kit I have as a default on SD3 load is over 13 gig on it’s own. Thankfully I’ve got 48 gig ram.

    Hi Armin,

You will want to install Toontrack Product Manager on your notebook, and download and install the Superior Drummer application. You don’t want copy the application files over, just install them.

The folders you want to copy from your PC to your laptop are in:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Toontrack\
They are: EZDrummer and Superior Drummer

EZDrummer contains the MIDI for Superior Drummer.

When you start SD3 it will complain that it can’t locate the sound library and give you the option to navigate to it.
