Sending a DI audio bass track at 155 bpm to be converted to midi does not work in ezbass. It tracks way to slow and misses 1/3 of the notes even with fast track turned on.This is the only reason I bought ezbass and it does not work.

Hey………..here’s another BUMP!Where the f#ck are all you brainiacs that posted I had no clue what I was doing???
I have the exact same issues…only reason I bought this plugin today was because of this function! Will try a few more different approaches but so far it has been severely disappointing 🙁
Do not waste your time.Nothing will work. This function was a total misleading lie by Toontrack. All the other users that say this function works can never prove that it does.
This is the thread i wish i could have seen before buying yesterday. The audio to midi is unusable for anything complex. ( I get some editing, but what comes back is a mess for any slightly intricate bass line) I took a leap of faith after i saw the Gear gods YouTube vid and he plays busy line, then shows how it caught everything (with a couple adjustments)
I went back and watched after buying TT and realizing this wasn’t quite the way it was, and noticed he plays back with the original mixed in while reviewing accuracy, also there is a Pro tools error msg for a couple frames, ( Cubase cold crashed three times when i did same “more notes” function adjustment ) then you see a lot of missing frames ( edits) and then final he say’s ” it tracks really well if you edit and adjust “.
I’m wondering if there is a better program to do the audio to midi conversion – then use EZBASS for the sounds and editing interface? Would Cubase midi converter do a better job? It seems TT would be at least, or better, but i will try this too today.
EZ player by itself is still a monster tool for those who need to create bass lines for song writing. That’s not my need – I’ve always played my own bass lines up until now but have injury to index finger and bass strings just trigger it way too much ,so i figured, I would just Guitar audio> midi and solve the issue –
Even dropping in previous project bass audio tracks result was unusable at most points ( too much editing and step writing to recreate a bass line) so I’m really a bit disappointed.
My hope is TT is still working hard to develop EZBASS, They have amazing skills and it will eventually be closer to what it claims to do.
Again, if you goal is just to create acceptable realistic bass lines for basic song writing or even complex IF you use THEIR midi files , It’s a fantastic program. If i had been able to download trial i would have discovered it could not do what I needed it to do, now I’m out £130 🙁
EDIT – I have gone back and normalized and raised volume and re tried with audio tracks for a better result – a lot more notes are being captured – but in order to get best result I have to increase threshold, which often crashes Cubase cold ( no error msg just goodnight! ) the performance has most of the notes but has a strong antares autotune vibe now — but it IS better. It still isn’t what i hoped ,but i believe if TT doesn’t stop development this will get better.
EDIT 2 – Crashing constantly – closes Cubase – no error msg. Less than 24 hours later, I know I am not going to use this. Is there a resale forum? I would take half the price just not to be completely burned on this. 🙁
We all got ripped off by toontrack with this ezbass scam!Enough said and I will never, ever buy another of their scam products again!
I bought EZ-bass I want to say in the the fall of last year, and have been using it only for midi bass to work on ideas. However a big push for me to purchase was also the audio tracker function to maybe go back to older projects that might not have had the best bass sound but I have the DIs so I would convert through EZBass. Well I was wrong, this weekend I must have tested like 8 or 9 tracks. All sounded incredibly inaccurate when converting the wav and using the audio sender as well. I then decided to do a guitar to bass midi and bass guitar to midi, and the conversion was subpar with alot inaccuracies. I then rendered the midi and re coverted and it was way worse. My di tracks are distorted or muddy either. I dont know if toontrack payed these youtube influences, but I agree on I dont know how the guy from gear gods even got the track to follow that busy guitar piece.
Toontrack…. I recently purchased EZbass and at first the guitar to bass midi seemed to be working ok. Not perfect but ok. Now it’s a complete mess.. I tried super simple root note riffs with slow bpm’s and still. Timing is off, notes are off and way off at that. It keeps playing these high pitch “ping” notes all over the place. What the hell is going on with this???
I wish I could get my money back.It is worthless and I have not used mine since a week after I bought it a year and a half ago.
This is unfortunate. After watching several Youtube videos this looked like a great product. In practice though….. I can’t see much use for it. I wish Toontrack could chime in here and give me some idea as to why it suddenly got massively worse in performance than when I first started using it….

If you can zip a short wav file and attach it here, I can have someone take a look at it. Without a file, it’s difficult to guess at the problem.
