Hey, Im new to all of this.
I had been using protools 8 off and on for the last ten years, just got EZdrummer 2 last year and was doing my edits in the midi edit window within protools, which was nice in the sense that I could actively edit and control playback of the song while editing, but again the setback was that it didnt have the grid editor like SD3. So I upgraded some stuff these last few weeks and bought a new PC and Protools 12 along with SD3 kind of in hopes to change my workflow a bit.
I want to be able to control playback in pro tools 12, from the SD3 plugin running within protools. My question is if there is some sort of remedy for this, that being either an update, or a setting in either program that anyone knows of, or maybe just a technique that anyone uses to make editing easier.
I see a post about protools not being able to be controlled by its plugins, but it didnt have much info as far as workarounds or general technique or approach.
To the best of my knowledge the AAX protocol doesn’t support a plugin controlling the transport functions of Pro Tools.
