I want to use my Korg nanoKontrol faders to move my SD3 Mixer faders to control instrument output track volumes.
When I slide the Korg faders, I hear a drum sound. So, the default setting is already assigned to play a drum note.
When I do the SD3 CC “learn” function, the Korg faders are not recognized.
Would this be a nanoKontrol issue or something I can fix in SD3?
When you check the MIDI Monitor in the Drums Tab, what values does it say when you move the faders?

This is interesting to me in that I thought the only way to move SD3 faders from an external device was to assign the fader to a macro button and that macro button to an external control.
Mac Studio M1 Max, RAM 64 GB, 1TB Drive, OSX 12.x/13.x and Windows 10 (VM)
DAW: Studio One Pro (always up to date)
DTX Express III (Extreme triggers), Nektar LX88
OWC Thunderbay Mini (4 X 1TB Sata SSD), Express 4M2 (4 X 2TB M.2 SSD), Envoy Express (1TB M.2 SSD)
Presonus Quantum, Faderport & Faderport 8
Black Lion Sparrow Mk2 A/D, FMR-RNP-RNC, MIDI Xpress 128, BM5A, KRK VXT4, Equator D5
2020 Macbook Pro 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD Audio(mobile rig)
I just figured out the macro buttons, and binding them to a volume fader.
I set this up for my mixer outs (kick, snare, cymbals, toms, main).
Looks like this is saved with the particular project, and when I load a new project, it’s gone.
Is there any way to store this macro setup to load with new projects w/o needing to set them up from scratch again?

Sure, right click a control, go to MIDI Learn Presets, and save the current setup as a preset. When switching to another Drums and Mixer Preset, the macros will be still be tied to the same CC values.
You can also load this MIDI Learn preset later.

Thanks again!
When I do change the volume with the mouse, it moves rather quickly.
I want to make more gradual changes in volume (it tends to jump 1.5 dB at a time).
Would this be a windows mouse setting, or it there something in SD3 I can do to make the volume changes with a mouse more gradual?

Press shift key on keyboard while moving the mouse, and it will decrease the changed steps on mouse movements 🙂
