    Firstly I’m no Beatstation expert.
I’ve dabbled with it a bit. It’s extremely easy to use and very quick to get good results with.
I’ve mainly used it with my own samples, both melodic and percussive.
I can’t say I’ve gone through the basses in any detail. The REX grooves sound professional and well tuned, well recorded.
But I think it might be dangerous to compare Beatstation with a dedicated bass library aimed at professionals.

Thanks Chris. That’s actually why I’m asking: I feel like the ease of use in terms of pattern based construction is pretty clear, but the description seems to imply it’s also a versatile multi-layer sampler, but that aspect is hazier in the description. BTW, I love the examples I’ve heard of the Classic EZX – great work! Almost didn’t check it out, because I thought it was a re-release of the Vintage & Custom in EZX form. Do you know if there are any plans to release it as an SDX as well?

No plans for an SDX at present.
Yeah, The Classic is all new and sounds quite different (IMO) to C&V.

The best thing currently about Beatstation to me is the quickness and ease of use.
As I said, I mostly use my own sounds.
Presumably you can use any REX based file too. I haven’t tried to import my own.
The bass and lead synths have a good quality to them, although they are not so much my thing (younger musician?), so I haven’t used them much.
It’s also only stereo out…. you know that?
By the way, it makes a great stereo drum enhancer for Superior or EZdrummer.
Drop one of your own samples onto a Beatstation pad, and drag your midi from a Superior drum track to a Beatstation track. Voila.
