Load EZ into a track in Protools. I don’t know how Protools does that.

    Hello all,
I am fairly new to using Pro Tools and only 24 hours into using EZDrummer 3. I’ve watched some tutorials but I am still confused about a number of things. The main thing is how do i go about creating a drum track against the song i have created in Pro Tools?  I need a way to play the guitar tracks I have created in order to create a drum track to that song right? Do i use EZDrummer as a plugin in Pro Tools to do this or is there another way to get my recording playing within EZ Drummer so I can create the drum track for it?

I imported a wav file of my Pro Tools recording (just guitar tracks) using BandMate but I can not find a way to sync that wav file up to the drum track i am trying to create. So is the only way to sync the two things and create a drum part by using EZDrummer as a plugin in Pro Tools? Or is there another way to do this?

Yes you want to open EZD3 as a plug-in into Pro Tools. You would want to do this as you probably recorded your guitar to a click in Pro Tools. So with the plug-in make sure that “Follow Host” is selected and the grooves in EZDrummer 3 will be the same tempo as your guitar.

Create a stereo instrument track (in Pro Tools) and insert > Multi Channel Plug-ins > Instruments > EZDrummer 3

    It’s literally that easy.

First thing. . .Open an “Instrument track” in Pro Tools. . . Then, in “track window” go up to the top of the track where it says “insert”.  There, go on the pull down menu, find instruments.  Then, find EZ DRUMMER and click it.  It will fill the window.  Then, you can use EZ Drummer to build a track.  I like to use the “search” function and tap out a kick and snare part then press “search” and you’ll have a number of parts that are close to what you have tapped. . . . You can audit those parts. . .change those parts. . .place them via midi directly to your “edit window” for the track on Pro Tools, or build the track right in EZ Drummer.
