Confused about User Midi files handling

Hi,

I must be doing something wrong but I don’t get how the user midi files work. I can locate my files but making a subfolder to store the files, dragging them from upper level into the subfolder in SD 3, the files get renamed and also copied with the new name in the original folder also. Example:  A file called “MoreDis” on the User Midi” root” level when copied to “More Disillusioned” subfolder becomes “Merged Loop(1)” and can now be seen in both “User Midi” and “More Disillusioned” subfolder also?

Any ideas?

I suggest a Linked Folder workflow instead of User Midi workflow.

If I understand you correctly. Try the dragging on your computer where the file names are good, not in SD, and link to the subfolder via Linked Folder Menu.

On the Grooves Tab>Options Button>Link Folder>Select this folder.
