Hello Support,
If the SD3 plugin and its Grid Editor is openend and I start a song in Cubase (10.5) the complete GUI freezes after clicking on another place on time rule in Cubase. But the Audio continue runs without dropouts. The only way to handle it – clicking anywhere on the free Desktop – then SD3 disappers and the GUI (Cubase) will run again. Then click on any Cubase window and the GUI of SD3 (Grid Editor) appears again and it is running.
This happened only if the SD3 Grid Editor is enabled. This is exact reproducable.
Sometimes it is not possible to run the GUI after this freezing. I have to stop cubase with taskmanager.
I hope you are able to comprehend this. I create a Video – but it is to big – Maybe I could send later via email.
Kind regards
Christian König
This happens to me as well exactly as desaster66 describes. (Cubase Pro 10.0.50, Windows 10) However, mine seems to be more random.
My solution is to open the task manager, click on the triangle next to Cubase to open all apps associated with it, choose SD3, and end that task. At that point Cubase unfreezes.

Cubase Pro, Korg Kronos, M-50, Hammond XK-1c, Toontrack SD3, EZBass w/lots of expansions, many VSL Vi's, Shreddage 3 everything, and shit-tons of FX plugins.
We have not been able to reproduce this. Does it happen in a minimal project also (with just an empty block on the song track)?

Hello Olof,
yes, this happened also with minimal projects, but more seldom. Tested without any audio track and only a few hits (20) in Grid Editor.
But all this happened only if the Grid Editor of SD3 is opened. If it is closed I could jump between different time points without any problems also in very complex Projects.
Kind regards

If you still have the video you recorded, please upload it here: https://ftpserver.toontrack.net/_pj6EhBWIzaTKSR

Was a soloution for this found? My installs of Cubase 10.5 and SD3 are up to date. I can unfreeze the project by alt+tabbing onto another program (e.g. a web browser I have open) but it will freeze again after one or two more edits.
It’s particularly annoying because it seems to be more likely to occur the more extensive the edit. For instance, moving a whole section of hits from one impulse to another will freeze as soon as the hits are dragged to the adjacent impulse, so it may take four or five freezes to drag everything to the impulse I would actually like to use.
It isn’t making SD3 unusuable, but it really hampers the process of programming drums as it occurs frequently.
