I just had my recording PC upgraded to Windows 10. Shortly after that, I found out that Cakewalk went out of business in November 2017. I had no idea because my X3 software, and Toontrack plug-ins were all working flawlessly. Now, I have no operating DAW and thousands of sound files saved on an external drive. What DAWs are compatible with Toontrack products? Which DAWs work the best?
I would say any DAW that uses VST3 plugins. Reaper is only $60 on PC. Can’t recommend a preference though, I’m still trying to find my favorite. The best DAW is the one you spend the most time learning, IMO. I used pro tools for over 20 years… too expensive for me to stay with them though.

Thanked by: rixaI use Audacity for all of my recordings and it’s free and compatible with Toontrack. Of course protools is always a good choice for a pretty penny. If you don’t believe Audacity can do the job, you can listen to my music on SoundCloud.com/thagirionband
Reaper is fully compatible with all Toontrack stuff. They’re my go-to plugins and I’ve been using them in Reaper for the last 18 months with no issues.
