Color Coding and Variations

Hi everyone I really love EZKeys it has been a game changer for my songwriting thank you so much!

full disclosure here i do not play piano and i am somewhat musically ignorant

I have some questions related to two things, sorry if it’s been posted before.

1. Is it possible to keep the color coding for intro, verse, prechorus etc after applying samples from the midi library? before I applied the samples my timeline looked very nice with all the chord blocks colored in their respective parts but afterwards it turned it all blueish
2. Is there and expansion pack that provides more variations like when i pick rhythmic chords or any of the genre variations?  I usually get 8 variations so was just wondering
3. Is there a way to apply piano fills or turnarounds or things of that nature when moving from each part of the song block? like you can do in superior drummer with fills.  would be nice if their was a section of piano “fills”
4. When will there be a Hammond B3 expansion pack?

Hi,

1. right-click the part in question and go to Properties> then select what song part you want it to be and it will be color coded as such.
2. Song structure parts usually have 4 variations each in MIDI packs, i.e. MELANCHOLIC POP>Straight 4/4>FEELING COLD 68BPM>Verse> Variation 1-4.
3. I get what you mean with fills but no, not in the same sense that you are doing it in Superior Drummer/EZdrummer but there’s nothing stopping you from just slicing the last beat/bar in a part and making it busier by selecting the end of another part or using the ‘Replace MIDI’ function on it.
4. There is never any info revealed on future plans or products by Forum moderators here on the Forum. Product announcements always are communicated through the main site and via email.

My piano knowledge needs to be upgraded so I can slice and dice some fills in there.

 

so on question #2 are the variations different per expansion pack? I have the EZKeys Essentials pack and I was

assuming the preset (i have Britpop selected) would yield different variations.  I might be missing something because I could have

sworn all the variations sounded the same when i changed the preset to something other than Britpop

 

ps i was told to ask for new things like hammond B3 in the forum 😉

Hi JC – don’t worry about a lack of piano knowledge just get busy with your knife and slice and dice away – you can’t break it and might make some really cool things the theory nerds (like me) can’t think of because it’s outside of the box.

Also you can always ask about things in the forum but the mods can’t reveal things (like when are we going to get EZKeys 2 with all the EZBass and EZDrummer2 bells and whistles attached) because a) they often are not told about this any sooner than we are; and b) they wouldn’t be allowed to tell us until they got the go ahead from TT Head Office anyway.

In EZkeys 2, is it still possible (like in EZKeys 1) to change the color of a song part that I’ve dragged down into the Song Track?    I really hope so!
