To be able to listen to your projects where you don’t have bounced your EZdrummer 2 tracks, he would need EZdrummer 2 and the same EZX:s that you have used. If he has EZdrummer 2 but not the correct EZX, another library will be used instead and it won’t sound the same for him as it does for you.

Regarding importing the wave files you have bounced – can you elaborate on what his system is? What software is he trying to open the wave files with?

Thank you. So to be crystal, I am using the EZX called “Metalheads” with Tomas Haake’s drum kit so he will need that EZX to hear what I have done. BUT will he need all the midi grooves/fills etc. that I have too?

I am using the latest version MacBook Pro with the latest Sierra OS. I exported the project with everything muted but the drums. Compressed it into a zip file. Emailed it through the cloud. He received it on a laptop using windows 10. Opened it up, imported it, had to get the KHz and playback engine right and then it said it could not read the file. We both are using Eleven rack as playback engine and protools 12.

Yes. He will need the same library to listen to the MIDI you have done if he wants it to sound the same! If he doesn’t own Metalheads – EZdrummer 2 will be using another library to play the MIDI.

No. The MIDI files are saved with the project save file for EZdrummer 2, so you can save a project in EZdrummer 2 and send it to your friend. Or you can save the project in your DAW, and he can open that, if he has the same DAW. You can also just send the MIDI files if you want to.
MIDI is an open format, so it’s like sharing a music sheet with your friends. It just tells the computer what notes to play Smile

Note that if he isn’t going to edit the drums himself, a Wave file will also work since it will sound the same as listening through EZdrummer 2.
