Do you get the other sounds dropping as well? It sounds like your computer is struggling at the low buffer sizes you are using. What computer  do you  have, as sd3 ran fine on my 14 year old i7?

SD3 with older sdx,s plus Rooms of Hansa and Death & Darkness. Cubase and wavelab current versions. Roland TD50x using all trigger inputs for triggering SD3 only. Windows 11 computer. Various keyboards and outboard gear as well as VST instruments. Acoustic drums: Yamaha 9000 natural wood and Pearl masters. Various snare drums. RME BabyFace Pro FS and Adam A7X monitors

ASIO is only a stand-in if you don’t have proper drivers for your audio interface. Of course one could always learn proper timing so you don’t have to lean on a click (unless there’s tempo/rhythm changes). When Karen Carpenter was recording drums sometimes as a joke they would drop out the click and bring it back in and she was on perfect timing.

    Hello,

I’ve been using SD3 as stand-alone software for a while now to upgrade my e-drum. I am currently recording various songs for an album and have noticed that the click stops completely stochastically when recording. Sometimes 10 clicks run through, then one is missing, then two are played again, then another one is missing, and so on.
This also occurs when playing empty tracks without having selected the record button.

This only occurs in ASIO mode. However, this is essential, as otherwise the latency is too high to use SD3 as a virtual instrument

The whole thing is massively annoying and really throws me off kilter when I’m recording.

What audio interface are you using?

What PC hardware are you running, processor and RAM particularly?

Is anything else running on the machine at the time?

Hi Patrick, another question for you: which version number is reported in the SD3 plug-in interface?

    Hi,

thank you for your tips and questions!

I use SD3 as Standalone and its at Version 3.3.7
The Audio Interface is an Focusrite 2i2 Ver.1
It also only drops the click sound, no other sounds.
My PC is more then powerfull enough, i think. 64GByte RAM, I9-10900K, 4080Super, M2 SSD.

@Drumjack52: Yea, i could play quite accurate, but its anoying when the clicks stops randomly when you will record a song.

I learned never to rely on a click track for this very reason. Not saying I’m a human metronome though.
