I like to experiment with all the different snare (or any other) sounds. One way is to right click on the drum/cymbal and do the “search for instruments…”. That gives you access to literally everything, but…it’s not only overwhelming, it’s also slow to load each new sound. A quicker way is to right click and pick from the list of sounds offered right there in the drop down list. Response is instant and there aren’t a million selections.
My question is this: what determines what is in this list? It appears to be tied to the Library that you have loaded; i.e. “Superior Drummer 3”, “Darkness”, “Death”, etc.
Is there a way to make that list out of your own selections? At first I thought that maybe it pulled from your favorites that you “starred” in the “Search for Instrument” tab, but it has nothing to do with that…
Or maybe I’m going about this all wrong. Is there another way to change, for instance, the snare on the fly without all the dropping down of menus and submenus…?
If any of the SD3 designers are reading this, it sure would be nice to be able to have that list stay on the screen as you try the different selections…rather than having it disappear with every new selection. That’s a pain.
Thanks!
Yes, that would be useful. If there was a arrow like interface that just scrolled to the next available instrument. Perhaps having selectable parameters that determined what the list was.

There are arrows at the top of the screen that do just that. You can scroll through kit pieces and presets.

You have that as well as using your up and down arrow keys in the “Search for Instruments…” window with Autoload on.
