    Hi,

If you have a preset set to your needs, save it as a userpreset. Than do a copy and load the other stuff you want to change for the drums or cymbals an you are goid to go.

This way you keep your xDrums and the midi configuration.

Create and save your own user preset. see manual under 3.1 and section “USER PRESETS” as these will keep any added instruments or xdrums.

I don’t think the OP wants to create a user preset as such. He’s looking for a way to have a selected xDrum stay selected no matter what preset he goes to. If so the answer to the question is that it can’t be done.

Actually, it can be done. If you select the drop down beside a preset and select Load Parts, you can load the mixer and other items from the other preset without your kit pieces changing. However, if one is setting up some stacking they should save it as a preset so they don’t have to keep setting it up each time.

Thanks. I was able to switch presets within the same library and retain the xDrum (good). However, the moment I switch Libraries, everything gets reset.

I wish there was a way to change Libraries -and- retain the xDrum.

    Hi,

that’s not possible, since switching libraries switches the stage, so to speak, and when you add an X-drum to the currently loaded library, you set it up in relation to that stage.
I don’t know if it could be possible in some future update or not but you can always post a request in the Requests & Feedback section.

Thanks. And at the risk of beating a dead horse, I’m not sure why this would be so difficult to program since each xDrum seems to be assigned its own microphone, but what do I know. Perhaps it might be possible to have a special ‘xDrum Preset’ so that, if I have, say, four xDrums, in a preset, I could save just those and re-load all for together every time I switch Libraries.

My grouse is not with adding xDrums so much as it is remapping the MIDI every time one adds a new xDrum. There should be a convenient way to load the xDrum(s) -and- their MIDI en masse.

    Best,

You can save presets in different libraries. Once done then the xdrums will load with that preset. I have all my own presets. Some I’ve created myself and others I’ve based on existing ones.

SD3 with older sdx,s plus Rooms of Hansa and Death & Darkness. Cubase and wavelab current versions. Roland TD50x using all trigger inputs for triggering SD3 only. Windows 11 computer. Various keyboards and outboard gear as well as VST instruments. Acoustic drums: Yamaha 9000 natural wood and Pearl masters. Various snare drums. RME BabyFace Pro FS and Adam A7X monitors
