Change midi map and assigned drums

I want to add additional toms and cymbals on certain EZXs – for instance, make the slot for clap or Fx into cymbal or tom sounds and assign those to my Vdrum tom or cymbal pads.

Example: Dark Industrial EZX has only 2 toms but I want 4 toms so I want to assign non-tom instruments (like ‘objects’) to be toms.

Does that make sense? Is it possible?

Operating system: Windows 11

Adding additional kit pieces is not a feature within EZ Drummer. This is available in Superior Drummer.

EZD can’t do that from its library, but you load third party samples into a kit. It’s simpler to buy an EXP with more toms.

Thanks! Can you recommend a good place to get samples? What file format are samples stored in that EZD accepts?
