Can’t split up a bar to have have 2 chords vs one

I’m writing a song in 6/8 time

i want two chords vs one

when I add a chord for example a c chord I would like to replace that with c and g in the same amount of time. I can’t slide to drag the chord shorter only longer. How do I fix this?

Operating system: macOS Catalina (10.15)

If it’s two chords in a bar you mean? Use the scissor to cut the bar in half.

You may need to ‘zoom out’ to see & to cut the smaller subdivisions of the bar.
