Can’t Mute Click

I’m using 2 iteration of EZD3 in a Logic project (Nashville “hand” kit for verses,  brushes for choruses).  Both are set to multi outs, but the metronome click is coming through outputs 1/2 in the verse kit even though the metronome isn’t selected. Even when its output is set to an unused pair of outs in Settings, it still comes through 1/2. Ended up having to mute that “master” channel strip that automatically sets to outputs 1/2. Isn’t there some other internal EZD setting that should get  rid of it? And why is it playing when it’s not selected?

    Hi there,

That’s a new one for me. Could you copy the session, remove everything but the EZD tracks and midi, zip and post it here?

Hi Brad – The attached zip file has audio of the section with and without the channel on outs 1&2 muted along with the EZD midi file. Were you also asking for the Logic session, too? Couldn’t zip that small enough to upload.

    Thanks for taking a look.

Sorry doesn’t give me anything to go on. Could you open both instances of the plugin at the same time and post a screen print?

    Might help.

    I can’t replicate the problem.

Sure. The 2nd one is the grid editor for the intro I sent before.

    Hi there,

In your screen print the metronome is active…. click the highlighted metronome and it should be quiet

Believe it or not, it keeps going whether whether that’s highlighted or not. I guess I left it showing as on after I muted the 1/2 out channel.

Have you tried creating another session with the same EZD EZXs and presets and see if it happens again.

No. Been knee deep in getting the parts to this programmed. For the time being I’ll just live with muting that one channel. Thanks for the time and effort.

If you are getting metronome clicks in Logic despite turning them off in EZ Drummer, you may have inadvertently wired up Logic’s metronome to one of your aux channels. Hard to tell without being able to see your project.

Brad & Jord – an update. Just came back to the problem session this afternoon after shutting down the laptop overnight. Magically, the click is gone without having changed anything. Of course, it was the simplest “solution” that didn’t occur to me in the midst of trying to suss out the problem. Thanks again for both your suggestions.
