Just purchased the crossgrade from EZDrummer. The crossgrade install appears to have worked, but the sound library installer didn’t. From the Product Manager it gives the error
Wrong DVD inserted
Could not parse the installer config file
But a more accurate message comes from running the Sound Installer directly from the download directory
“Sound Installer” needs to be updated
The developer of this app needs to update it to work with this version of macOS.
Using the production version of Catalina with all current updates. While we wait for this binary to be rebuilt, is there a manual way to install the sound libraries?
See https://www.toontrack.com/forums/topic/cant-install-on-catalina/ for a workaround.
The Sound Installer in the download is still 32-bit, true, but if you start the installation from Product Manager, a newer installer will be used.

I have the same issue. The “fix” provided above by Olof does not work unfortunately. It seems SD3 is not compatible with Catalina despite claims there is a workaround from the company.
It did work for me, though, so maybe your situation is different from the one described here. But be sure to pick a location on your Mac for the downloads that is not restricted by Mac OS. That’s what actually causes this – In Catalina apps are required to ask permission to access the Downloads folder, and probably others. I created a temp/toontrack folder in my home directory and that worked.
Unfortunately I’m stuck on another gotcha, which is that Roland’s V-Drums MIDI driver isn’t yet compatible with Catalina. Good thing I only updated my travel laptop, not the one normally hooked up to the set. Sigh.

Never mind, I found and fixed the error. Restart Product Manager and you should be able to install part 2 and the rest.

I was able to complete installation. Apparently it was hiccup in their server preventing installer to launch.
Now real question is how do I move library to external HD?
Installing library to internal drive wasn’t my plan.
Hi j0selit0,
SDX libraries can be moved in the Finder and then re-linked in either the PM or SD3 Settings > Libraries/Paths.
Just Move the entire ‘SL-SuperiorDrummer3’ folder to the preferred location on your external drive.
Open SD3 and go to Settings > Libraries/Paths, click the drop-down next to ‘Superior Drummer 3’ and ‘Change path…’.

John

Honestly this is really frustrating, Facing an issue that has been on this forum since October. Spending over 400$ for a software that we need to make music. Just bought a new iMac and it came with Catlina Installed. Any news on when they will be releasing all the Product Manager install issues? I tried the work around issue, but I can’t install the updates on my external drive or anywhere after I installed folder 1 of SPD3. Any help?

From Olof (Toontrack):
“Sorry, we have been working very hard to resolve these issues. New installers are being tested at the moment. They are looking good, although one serious problem was found today and has been fixed. They need just a little more betatesting time. I expect them to be made available to you all on Monday. Again very sorry for the inconvenience.”
