Toontrack. I bought everything on the Black Friday page already. Loosen the belts and put more on sale. I’ll buy the whole damn lot!
the fix above works. I’ve done it twice on an internal drive. Just follow the steps carefully.
will this problem ever be solved so I can down load Catalina and use SD3 with an external drive?
Hi tbonezkey,
the problems that have been popping up are connected to new installations on fresh Catalina systems.
If you are upgrading your system, there will be no problems with Toontrack software as long as you have made sure to update everything to the latest version via the Product Manager.
If you want to make a fresh installation of the software on Catalina, there are workarounds here in the Forum, should you run into any problems.
Libraries, especially if you are planning on having them on an external drive, are better to download and install on your external drive before you upgrade to Catalina. There is no point in re-installing sound libraries and MIDI if you upgrade your OS.
If you already have your libraries on an external drive, then you just install the software on your new Catalina drive and then point the SD3 software to the location of your libraries.

Hey there,
I did exactly what you’re describing, made a manual install to my external SSD etc. I also changed the path in the installation info tab. But it still tells me “damaged installation” and SD3 doesn’t work as expected. I get no sound, but I see the drums hitting.
Thanks in advance
Frank

Spent ages explaining how my Mac with Catalina and external drive has no issues at all with installing the D&D SDX but not showing.

I am waiting updated for mac Catalina. can not install here please help
Works like a charm ! Thanks for the workaround.
Ok, so using the workaround worked for me, after a complete delete an re-installation of SD3. I am currently downloading all libraries again, and now an update pops up:
“Sound Library Update & Presets, Version 1.1.3”
I downloaded it, but now I am not sure if I should overwrite or combine the folders, when dragging over to the external SSD. Any suggestions?
If you drag manually from updater Content, do not overwrite folders. Files from e.g. the main ‘SL-xxxxx’ folder go into the corresponding existing ‘SL-xxxxx’ folder, files in the Content/Sounds folder go into the existing ‘Sounds’ folder, etc.
Files you may overwrite with the updated ones but not folders.

John

Got the work around to work and everything installed but SD3 is running really slow, its a brand new MacBook pro I9 16GB mem and 1tb SSD. When you click on the snare the sound goes off but takes almost 20 seconds for the blue ring to show up on the snare to edit. Worked great on my old MacBook…. Stupid 10.15.

Any difference if you change the system color profile to sRGB?

Are you getting the “wrong DVD” message? If so, could you please post a screenshot of your Preferences window in Product Manager?
