I need help.. i have ez drummer 1 and i just bought the metal! expansion but i can’t install because it says you need to upgrade your toontrack software to the latest version before you can install this product… i’ve already downloaded all the updates for ez drummer 1.. .any idea? don’t tell me i have to buy ez drummer 2 to use the metal! expansion?

It has been suggested to try running the installer with the Windows UAC turned off.

How do I turn off windows UAC? Also I try installing metal machine and it was ok…I still can’t install metal! Were u able to view the pics I have attached…u can clearly see my ez drummer 1 was updated.
Anyway I have decided to go ahead and buy ez drummer 2. Would this solve my problem? And do I have to uninstall ez drummer 1 before installing ez drummer 2?

I don’t know if upgrading to EZdrummer 2 would solve your problem or not as, like I said, I’ve never come across this problem before. I wouldn’t recommend spending more money if it won’t help and have you get more upset if it doesn’t work.

I’m having exactly the same problem with Windows XP and that doesn’t have UAC, clean machine, install EzDrummer 1.3.2, install update 1.4.0, try to install Metal Ezx get message saying you need to update your Toontrack software, so it’s not just you! I tried to install Metal without any toontrack software installed to see what message I’d get then, and still got the message about updating software, so what they’re actually checking for I have no idea.

Ok. An updated 32-bit version for the 1.4.0 update is up for download. Please uninstall using the Windows uninstaller and install the new update. Then run the EZX installer.

FWIW, I too had a problem at first with the Latin EZX pack. After upgrading to 1.4.x EZ Drummer 1 I was still getting this error. After reading this thread and doing a little looking around I discovered that I only installed the 64bit upgrade as I try to keep a clean 64 bit install of everything. Well, curiosity got the better of me and I also started the 32 bit installer for 1.4.x and lo and behold the Latin EZX pack intalled without a hitch. Looks like the installer for the EZX only hunts the registry for the 32 bit version. So make sure you have the 32 bit upgrade to 1.4.x before trying to install any EZX pack. Hope this helps someone in the future.

hi,after pc migration ezx metal is installed, authorized, works but without drum set by Mark Lewis, Jason Suecof and Daniel Bergstrand.
