I am using a Yamaha dtx502 module with a dtx522 kit connected to a laptop. It seems to be mapped well because when I hit a tom or snare you can see it on the superior drummer 3 program that I am hitting the corresponding tom or snare. The problem is that I still hear only the dtx502 module sounds out of my speaker and not the superior drummer 3 sounds. This is probably a ridiculously easy problem to fix but I do not know where to find my answer.
You are using your pads as midi triggers, triggering sounds in SD3. So, a few things:
2. Need to determine where SD3 is outputting the sound, that is being generated by SD3 when you hit the pads. That will depend on your computer system. You’ll need to learn where your computer system routes sound to, and have the speakers hooked up to that output. This will vary, according to your computer system.

Thanked by: Tony deLorenziOk, so I can play the drums and hear the sounds only on my computer speakers but the sound will not go out through the module to the edrum speakers for live performance.
Your drum module is not an audio interface. You would need to use an audio interface for a live performance.

Universal Audio Arrow 2×4 Thunderbolt 3 Audio Interface with UAD DSP
Hi,
any of the newer Universal Audio Thunderbolt Audio Interfaces should give you good performance, though it may be a bit more than you need if you do not use the computer for recording and mixing. Also, you need to make sure your computer has a Thunderbolt 3 connection port.

Thanked by: Tony deLorenziI had the same issue and it is still not perfect now but I was told by Anderton drums where I bought the software to download AS104 drivers instead of the native drivers for your sound card… You will have to go into settings after and muck about a bit getting it right but it took me about 15 minutes.
My biggest problem is I like to wear my Bose bluetooth headphones and it plays a lot quieter..
