Hello, I’m stuck. I’ve tried everything I could find but I can’t get any sound when I load up EZ 2 into Cakewalk. Anyone have any suggestions?
Hi,
which version number is displayed in the plugin interface?
Does the Standalone work as expected?
If you load another VI on the very same track you had EZDrummer 2 on, does it produce sound as expected?

Hi, both my 32 bit and 64 bit standalones work fine.
SI-Drummer loads on the same track and works fine.
V 2.1.7 32 bit is the only one I can select in Cakewalk. 64 bit isn’t available.
OK, think I’m figuring it out. I’ve had my EZdrummer track Channel Output set to EZdrummer 1 and I can’t get sound. When I set my output to CW’s Sonar SI-Drum kit or just about any other output selection then I get sound, but when I select EZdrummer 1 I get nothing. Also, I can’t change drum kit presets in the EZdrummer window. So, apparently my EZdrummer presets are not loading up and I can’t find them when I search for them. How do I load my EZdrummer presets?
Much appreciated,
Hi,
the fact that you only can select the 32-bit version is most likely the problem, since that means Cakewalk is wrapping the 32-bit plugin.
I would check Cakewalk’s VST Search paths and remove the path to the 32-bit version and make sure the path to the 64-bit is included.
If you are unsure of the 64-bit version path, please start the standalone 64-bit and go to the Help menu to see the VST plugin path.

Hey John, it took me long enough to get around to it but that was the solution. Works great now. Thanks for the help.
I’ve just tried the same thing – got rid of the path to the 32bit version of EZdrummer and included the path to the 64bit version but Cakewalk still won’t find it. I’ve only just installed cakewalk so it’s definitely the latest version…any ideas?
Hi Ricko,
does the 64-bit standalone work as expected? Is there any reason for you to still have the 32-bit version installed on your system? If not, can you please delete it?
If in doubt which version’s which, please delete all instances of ‘EZDrummer.dll’ on your system and run the latest EZdrummer 2.2.2 64-bit update to install the 64-bit only.
Double-check the paths as per the instructions above.
If you still do not see EZdrummer 2 as a plug-in in Cakewalk, please start the Plug-In Manager and check that EZdrummer 2 isn’t excluded and try re-scanning.
BR,
John
