The country rock punch preset uses the Tama bell snare, but when I hit midi note 37 which is supposed to be the sidestick, it triggers the snare and the sidestick, like it’s a layer. In fact you can see it in midi mapping, both the snare and the sidestick are being triggered. I want the sidestick only. How can I edit this?
I know this snare has a sidestick, because it’s used in Bob Rock kit 1 and it sounds fine.
I’ve encountered something similar and noticed that the problem was simply the sensivity of the rimshot in my TD-50 drum module. When the sensitivity of the rimshot is set too high the snare and rimshot would play simultaneously. Not sure if this solution works for you.
That sounds like a problem or quirk with your drum pad controller. I’m using a midi keyboard. This is clearly something written into the preset that anyone can test by simply hitting midi note 37. You can see 2 notes going down in the midi map 37+38. It’s weird.
the Country Rock Punch Preset doesn’t have the Sidestick articulation loaded, so the substitution scheme comes in place and substitutes the sidestick with the ‘Center Stack’. Select the Snare, then the articulations drop-down and then activate the Sidestick articulation.
Thanks John for clearing up a mystery. I just assumed all articulations would be loaded, but after seeing the long list I see why. Superior 3 is such an amazing leap forward from #2
