    Hi,

could you please try exporting them to another location?
Is it possible for you to post a screen shot of the error message?

    BR,
    John

CORRECTION: The following is not the solution. I was fooled because the second time I tried it, the problem returned. When I ran Reaper in administrative mode, I was able to export audio stems to any folder, no matter how long the chain of folders happened to be as well as to any of the two external drives.

I was having the same problem with EZD3. Most of my audio stems would export without any problem. But one song did give me a problem. After troubleshooting it for a week, it dawned on me that the reason it couldn’t “create files” might be because the sum of my folder names was too long. I ran into this problem with other software many years ago. So, as a test, I made a folder on C:\test and it exported into that folder without any problem. Perhaps this is the answer for anyone else experiencing this problem.

I just received acknowledgment from EZD3 support that it is a bug currently being worked on by programmers. But there is no estimated time frame for the release of the update yet.

Is there any update on this?  I get the error message when I try to export a track as a 24bit stereo file.  I get the same message regardless of where I try to save the file.

    Hi TRex23,

are you exporting close to the root of the drive or deep into a folder structure?

Have you tried to start EZdrummer 3 standalone by right-clicking the shortcut and ‘Run As Administrator’?

    John

Thank you.  I first tried saving to the Desktop.  Then I tried the C:\ drive (root). Then I tried a random folder.  Same error. I will try running it as an administrator, but I feel like Toontrack would have told us this if that was the solution.

So, I’m happy to report that I finally had success exporting a track as a WAV file!  Many thanks to John and everyone else here.

First, I ran EZ Drummer as an administrator.  I am running Windows 11, so there was no option for doing this in the context menu.  I had to select the program icon and then hit CTRL+Shift+Enter to run it as an administrator.  The first time I tried it I got the same error message.   But I also got a popup message from Avast, my antivirus program stating that it had blocked an app it saw as dangerous. I clicked on “allow the app.” and then tried it again.  Voila!  It worked.  Now, I’m thinking the problem MAY have been AVAST blocking the process and NOT the fact that it wasn’t being run as an administrator.  But either way, it doesn’t matter because it worked.

As a side note, for what it’s worth, the reason I want to do this is because I’m thinking of purchasing this Nux JTC Loop Pro looper/drum pattern player.  It has 256 slots to save “one shot” files. The files must be 24 bit 44.1K.  One shot files don’t loop.  They can actually be whole backing tracks with multiple instruments.  So, as a one-man-band, I am thinking about creating whole songs in EZ Drummer and then exporting them as 24bit WAV files that I can then import into the JTC Loop Pro via USB and have the potential to have up to 256 full-song backing tracks.  Initially I would probably just use this function for drums to play along with, but I could import the drum track into my DAW and create a full band backing track to use.
