Can't edit play style in demo

Hi all,

 

I just downloaded the demo of EZDrummer 2 to check it out and possibly purchase. I noticed that the demo has a couple of issues for me:

1. When I click on a midi groove to edit the play style, it just hangs saying “Loading MIDI Information” and “Scanning for changes”
2. When I click on the Search tab at the top, it has the same error as above.

Is there any way to resolve this? I am using a mid-2014 macbook pro running Mojave 10.14.6. This makes me hesitant wanting to buy this software if two if the main features won’t work on my computer.
