As the title says, I have an already played bass part that I want EZBass to render but it doesn’t allow me to drag a clip from my DAW (Studio One) into the convert audio to midi function.

Does Studio One allow drag and drop of MIDI files or audio out from it? One way to test it is to drag a MIDI/audio section to your desktop. If it works, EZbass will support it. If it doesn’t, unfortunately there’s nothing we can do about it, since the DAW simply don’t support that. In those cases, you have to export the MIDI/audio and import into EZbass.

Thanks for the reply, I’ll check it out later when I’m home.

I have the same issue with dragging a guitar track to the audio listen thing. My understanding is that I was supposed to be able to drag and audio track in and have EZ bass create a bass line from it…
Is it because they are WAV files and EZB wants Mp3?

Hey guys,
Studio One doesn’t copy or select the audio data when you copy or moved it, but rather metadata about the audio clip in question. I’ve added a feature request for supporting drag and drop in Studio One, but I don’t personally know if it’s possible to support or not, so I can’t make any promises at this point.
EZbass supports dragging and dropping files of many different formats. The full list will be in the Audio Tracker chapter of the manual when it is completed, but both wav and mp3 are supported.
For now, if you want to move files from Studio One into EZbass, exporting the audio files from Studio one first is probably the easiest. Studio One doesn’t support dragging and dropping into Explorer/Finder, but you can drag and drop filtes into the files tab of the browser. That should be a little faster than exporting.

Thanked by: Don, Flamey and Michael MartonI have the same problem in Logic Pro 10.4.8. – And when I, as a remedy, export a midi region and load it into EZbass, not only the region (e.g. from bar 14 to 18) is imported but all bars from the 1st bar on. That means that bar 1 to 13 are overwritten. This is very annoying!!! (I told Logic to export the midi as standard midi file (0); but without this option the result is the same!
You can’t drag it (wav) directly from within Studio One to EZBass, but you can do it indirectly : right click the wav > bounce selection > go to the bounce folder of the song > drag it from there into EZBass.
So you can drag a wav from disk into EZBass (while the EZBass is in Studio One).

Thanked by: Michael MartonYou can also right click the audio file > Show in Pool
In the Pool, you can right click the audio file and select Show in Finder (or Show in Explorer on PC)
This will show the audio file on the hard drive, and you can drag it from there into EZbass.

EZbass version: 1.0.2
Operating system: Windows 10
This doesn’t work in cubase 10.5.20 either, drag and drop audio from within Cubase. And importing via the finder is clumsy, to say the least. Bummer.
Please fix this, TT.
How do I drag audio from Pro Tools into EZBass?
How do I drag audio from Pro Tools into EZBass?
EZbass version: 1.0.3
Operating system: macOS Mojave (10.14)
Unfortunately you can’t. It’s because Pro Tools doesn’t allow drag and drop, so there’s nothing we can do about it.
This is why we developed the Audio Sender plugin – which allows you to record the audio from Pro Tools into EZbass, to avoid having to export the audio from Pro Tools, etc.

Thanked by: FrankSo Logic, Cubase, Studio 1, Pro Tools don’t have drag & drop. What DAW does support this function?
I can drag & drop audio from the arrange page to Cubase’s Sampler track just fine, BTW.
One of few DAWs that support drag and drop is Cakewalk Sonar.
Internally Cubase can drag and drop audio, and they have changed their file format for drag and drop during the years – so it differs between versions. MIDI can be dragged and dropped from Cubase.
The easiest way to discover if a DAW has this ability is to try to drag a MIDI or Audio region directly to the desktop. If you can drop it there as a file, the DAW supports drag and drop.
