I am pretty far gone frazzled at the moment…But here goes.
I have recently moved to Win 8 32bit. I reinstalled an Authorised EzDrummer on my Desktop pc. I installed Solo fine and these parts worked fine. However Cocktail would not install giving me Update despite. I uninstalled everything and started again..Downloading a fresh Set up from my products. This time I choose the custom install to be sure. Again Cocktail would not update.
I noticed the installer was pointing to my external F drive Samples folder..and that there was no way to removed this path. The failed install log does show it trying to install to the C drive..so I am not sure if these conflicting paths are causing the problem. I have tried different Cocktail installer but they all have the faulty path set in GRANITE.
Secondly I have now found..when trying to access SOLO ..that it tells me that this Machine is not Authorised…It is…but sure enough the Computer I.D. the Solo EZ authorisation box shows me is indeed different to the on My Products page. I know I am not good at this stuff..but what a nightmare all this rubbish is. Thanks if anyone can help.

Hi,
sorry for the confusion.
The installers have been undergoing revision for a while and on my Windows 7 installation, the Cocktail EZX was installed with the older MSI-based installer, which makes it list under the ‘Add/Remove Programs’ Control Panel in Windows, as does EZdrummer itself. I cleaned up the Windows 7 machine and saw that the Cocktail EZX now also, as the other EZX:s, make use of the new Toontrack installer.
My bad, sorry for that but still, the most important thing now is that we get an email with log(s) and screen shot(s) so we can determine what is happening on your system.
Best Regards,
John

The log is received and looked into (not by me, but anyway)

we are indeed looking at your logs and what we find is a bit puzzling. I have asked a colleague to send you physical discs for your EZX (+EZdrummer/Cocktail if needed) while we are looking into this matter.
2 suggestions I have for you at this stage however are:
– make sure you are logged in as an administrator on the machine
– try to turn UAC off temporarily to perform the installs
Please let us know if the above helps.

Hi Rogue….I am the Administrator on the Desktop. Did you read post where I say that …on my laptop , was faced with the almost IDENTICAL situation when installing Jazz, Americana and percussion. So it is not just on the Desktop being discussed…on the Laptop I just clicked retry to the UPDATE FAILURE notices and everything installed..it seems. So its a double whammy and it does not just involve the COCKTAIL kit… On American I only had 7 of 8 retry buttons to hit ..percussion took at least a 150 …and Jazz probabley half that. Given the apparent success in this method …I was tempted to do the same for the Desktop..but am waiting for your thoughts. thanks Martin
UAC stands for User Account Control. I recommend you read up about the methods to switch it off, if only temporarily (it is definitely not recommended to turn UAC off permanently, particularly if your machine has access to the Internet). It may help at times with unsuccessful installations (not just of Toontrack products).
I noted that on the screenshot you sent you are running Windows 8. While that is not known to cause issues this may be related, what OS are you running on the other machine… you must tell us as much as you know about both machines otherwise it won’t be possible to draw parallels that may or may not be relevant.

The Laptop is an i5 with 4gig mem…its full details are logged on my page. The Desktop ..running win 8 is an an Athlon x2 processor with 4 gig mem ( I dont have access for more details now.
Here is a gif file with the specs of my Desktop (Blackie). I will email as well to be sure.
Support has confirmed that they are sending the Msi installer versions. I have uninstalled EZDrummer but the Coctail and Jazz files remain in the EZD folder. How should I dispose of these…or can I just install over the top of them when the Msi discs arrive.
You should be fine just deleting them manually.

OK folks..after all that install stuff 6 weeks back, I have begun reinstalling with the Discs you have sent me. I installed and authorised EZdrummer fine…ditto with Americana..though I had to use the serial number for it that was listed in MY Products..not the one listed on the CD box. I thought great, a bit messy but I am getting there. So I confidently went the same root with Jazz and was similarly given an Authorisation number to enter into the Autho’ box on my pc…it rejected it twice..I tried the serial on the box also with no luck…The same applies to the Latin Percussion install. This is really giving me the ….. you know. What can I do now guys. 2 months of nothing but grief. Sorry for the whinge but someone has to to cop it and I have had it up to my armpits. Thanks in anticipation..of…..oh just stop whingeing.
well, I can see that you re-authorised an older version of EZdrummer, this almost certainly explain why you may not be able to authorise. Please make sure that EZdrummer displays the version number as ‘1.3.2’, otherwise you will be ending nowhere, indeed…
