I have used up another Authorisation to get things working … so thats fixed until I run out of those.

The other problem remains even though I managed this time to get the Cocktail installer pointing to the Cdrive. Same problem “Update ERROR. I have included the fail log if that helps. To be honest I dont give a damn about Cocktail ..but am waiting to purchase 3 new kits and cant bear the thought of this all happening with them.

This time I choose the custom install to be sure. Again Cocktail would not update.
I noticed the installer was pointing to my external F drive Samples folder..and that there was no way to removed this path. The failed install log does show it trying to install to the C drive..so I am not sure if these conflicting paths are causing the problem. I have tried different Cocktail installer but they all have the faulty path set in GRANITE.

the above sounds like a shorthand to what you have done and does not really give us much info, besides that you are interchangeably speaking of EZdrummer and Cocktail. In any case, it is not really possible for us to tell which installers, both in term of products but also version (physical disk, or electronic download) each of the above sentences relate to.

I suggest you post screenshots for the steps that are causing you problem, so we can at least get a visual clue of what is going on.

Hi ROGUE ..I have uploaded the failed cocktail install log again..this time I hope you can see it. Your upload confirmed it..so it should be there.

I dont know why the confusion Rogue ..you say that I am “interchangeably speaking of EzDrummer an Cocktail. I am talking about the Cocktail Install…which comes with the EzDrummer install. I clearly said that in the paragraph above the one you quoted. I have installed EZD..It works fine as I explained. I DONT own a disk..It is all digitally downloaded…EVERYTHING ..and I had done all the current EZD updates, as requested.

So it is COCKTAIL that will not install..

Yet when I check ..Program files /Toontrack/EZdrummer/.. I find a Cocktail folder, including all of Its kits and sounds PNG’s and four config files. Should I try just deleting that folder.? and run again run the latest Cocktail Install?
I have intalled These products on my laptop..no problems ..I have simply installed all your latest stuff…But this time no Cocktails 🙂

well, the Cocktail installer has no way to specify a ‘custom’ path, hence the confusion. And no, I’m afraid the log is still nowhere to be found. are you zipping it or uploading with a .txt extension?

Cocktail update is now telling me that the Library is Damaged . Should I BE trying to reinstall the whole product…should I remove the Cocktail folder in Program files / Toontracks/ EzDrummer? that I spoke of earlier.

    Hi,

uninstall Cocktail via the ‘Add/Remove…’ panel.
You should not have any Cocktail EZX sub folder now in the ‘Program Files/Toontrack/EZdrummer/’ folder.
Reinstall from the latest downloadable Full EZdrummer installer, then run the latest update again.

Hi John , this is insane. When you say “Uninstall Cocktail EZX via the Add /Remove panel” I am assuming you mean from the Control Panel Uninstall…if you do ..it does not appear as an installed application there. Where else will I find add /remove.

In ANY case I have just tried to install the Jazz EZX and am getting the exact same run around “Failed to update”. I tried installing this becuase their was no already existing Jazz EZX in the C/Program files/Toontracks/EZDrummer folder. It should have just followed its path to that folder and installed fine…it has not.

I have ONLY installed with what you refer to the latest installer…3 times..same shit. I have never in ten years had anything like this happen. I already have it installed on my Laptop..

I just tried to install the Jazz ezx onto the Laptop…you know the one that had successfully installed Cocktail…It fails “could not update”.. I dont know what is going wrong. EVERYTHING.

    OK,

we need to take a look at that log file and preferably also screen shots. Since you have experienced problems attaching to your post, could you please send them to ‘support toontrack • com’, replacing the brackets and bullet with @ and .?
    Please refer to this thread.
Since you indeed used the new full installers and updates, they do not appear in the ‘Add/Remove Programs’ Control Panel, the installer packages include an Uninstaller instead.

    Best Regards,
    John

In pure frustration I decided to click thru all the failed to update messages for all the sounds etc, until I had Jazz telling it had installed successfully. I open Solo and sure enough it is listed..I have Jazz Drums…loaded and playing. This is bizarre installer behavior. I cant be sure that everything I should have is there…but certainly I seem to have all the Kit. I have Pocket Midi…Improvisation Midi..Brushes Midi. I just dont know for sure if all the variations etc are there..but there are a number. Why would the installer be telling me it cant install the files for Jazz Drums but install them anyway.

I have done this with ..Americana and Latin Percussion as well all files appear to be in place and playing great sounds. I have done this on the ASUS Laptop…I HAVENT tried it on my Desktop yet waiting to here from you first. I have no idea what you are saying about the Uninstaller …you did say to go to ADD/REMOVE…where is that?

Forget about the ADD /REMOVE question. But I can tell you that there were no uninstaller options within the installation. That is a fact and that was also the case when I FIRST installed, on my Laptop. There were no hitches with that install and the there were no uninstallers in that or any subsequent installation. I know this becuase I always check the folders to see whats in them. Perhaps I am misunderstanding you ..but I just wanted you to know whats has been happening here.
