HI,
DAW: Acid pro 7c
OS: Windows 7 64bit
Quad core processor, 4gig ram, plenty of HD space great computer etc..
I initially installed the Ezmix 64bit version (successfully) to path: C:/program files/vst plugins. I usually select the program files (x86) option but this option was not available. (things seem to work when installed into the program files (x86) folder)
I Launch Acid pro 7, open my plugin manager and select the above file for a vst scan to load the plugin BUT the file was not recognized and did not show up in the vst plugin folder after scan. Note: I have installed other vst plugins before which work perfectly so I do know how this is done.
I then proceed to install the Ezmix 32bit version which offers the option to install into my preferred path (c:/program files (x86)/ vst plug-ins) where all my others are located.
I then launch Acid pro 7 again and re-scan the file in which the 32bit version was installed which happens to work! great! So after that i register my copy successfully and proceed to explore its functions which works perfectly and sounds great! After hours of work using Ezmix i save my project and close Acid which is when the problem begins 🙁
Example of problem.
I start a fresh project in Acid pro 7 and insert a wave file. I then apply Ezmix as an effect and select a preset (e.g Guitar) which all works perfectly. I then save my project and close Acid. I then relaunch Acid and open the project i was working on which is when the following error appears:
WARNING: An error occurred when loading a plugin or plugins. The plugin preset(s) could not be loaded. DETAILS: The user preset for Plug-in ‘EZmix’ could not be loaded. The default settings have been restored.
I then click Ok, and check to see what has happened. So I open up the Ezmix effect that I had previously applied to the wave file and the preset has reverted back to ‘Default’ (instead of Guitar).
So just to be clear on terminology, the presets are all available and working fine. the problem is that the SELECTED presets are not saving/ loading with the project when closed/ opened.
Other info: i tried again to install the 64bit version and I noticed that the path: C:/program files (x86)/ vst plug-ins/ has now become an available option so I then install it there, but the 64bit version still wont work.
I ran a test to see if I could replicate the issue using another DAW so I opened up Fruity Studio v9 and these are the results:
– 64 bit version does not work / not recognised
– 32 bit version works perfectly! – it even saves/ loads the pre selected presets to the project. No errors at all.
The problem with this is that I do not use fruity-loops as my DAW so until this issue can be fixed, Ezmix will have absolutely no use for me 🙁
please help!
About the 64-bit version of EZmix; are either Acid Pro 7 or FL 64-bit hosts? I do not believe so but I’m not sure.
I’m can’t offer further assistance for why Acid won’t save as I’m not an Acid user. It saves fine in both Reaper and Cubase here. Perhaps you can contact Sony. I’ll also forward this to the programmers for further advise.

One other thing; I just checked and saw that Acid Pro 7’s latest version is version 7.0e. Perhaps you can update and see if it fixes things or if you experience the same problem.

Ok.
I just confirmed with the programmer that Acid saves projects differently than other hosts. Not wrongly, but differently.
It will be fixed in the next update of EzMix.

Hi Scott,
I’m not sure either if Acid or FL are 64bit hosts but both are compatible with Windows7 64bit.
I updated to Acid pro 7.0e as suggested but unfortunately i’m still experiencing the same issue 🙁
I’ll contact sony support but I’m feeling very doubtful about that because all my other VST plug-ins are working fine. I can already anticipate them pointing the finger back at you.
Would it be fair to say that this plug-in is simply incompatible?
Oh ok well thats potentially great news.
Obviously depending on how long ill be waiting for this update…?

I do not have an ETA on the update release. I’ll let you know when I can let you know

This would have been nice to know before I spent my money 🙁
I know its not your fault.
Thank you for your assistance Scott.
