Cannot change path to EZX from SD3

I have a new computer that runs Windows 11 as opposed to my old computer which runs Windows 10. I have SD3 but not EZX 2 or 3. From the SD3 plugin I cannot change the path to my EZX libraries (I don’t know what you mean by ‘Locate’ but it doesn’t work). I can’t add a new path either (see attached screenshot). I assume that is because the SD3 plugin looks only for SD3 libraries. It seems you haven’t taken into account that some customers use EZX libraries without installing the EZX plugins even though this case is supposed to be supported by your software.

Thanks for the quick reply. Unfortunately it doesn’t solve the problem. There is no option to set or change the path to the EZX library. The only way to make the EZX libraries visible in SD3 is by reinstalling them in the positions where they are already. So am I supposed to reinstall 27 EZX sound expansions?

I’m not sure I totally understand your situation. You say you have a new computer. But then you say you want to set an install path to EZXs that are already on that computer.

My questions:

Is this a totally new computer with no EZXs installed? If so, then yes, you will need to install them all through the Toontrack Product Manager.

Or a computer where the OS was updated? The EZXs are still on that computer?

Are the EZXs installed on a separate hard drive?

It is a new computer. The VST plugins are on the internal SSD drive and the sound libraries are on a network drive.

Hi Ole,

are you saying that if you scroll down to the bottom of the Settings > Libraries/Paths you do not have an entry for setting the path to EZX:s and MIDI, like in my attached screen shot?

The dropdown always looks as in the screenshot toontrack_ezx_path.png. And yet SD3 can find the EZX libraries installed in a different directory by the Product Manager.

Hi Ole,
none of your screen shots has shown the very bottom of the Settings > Libraries/Paths page, where I would like to see which path is set.

The screen shot in your last post just shows the Product Manager and the Download path set for storing the downloaded (temporary) installation files.
I hope you are not downloading and installing to the same location?

On this thread one of the attachments I thought I had added is missing. That is my mistake, sorry. The file is still in my Pictures folder so for reference I now add it again.

I have finally found a way to specify the path to the EZX libraries. The problem is that you cannot change the path if the directory already exists. So you have to move the EZX directory, change the path to something random, move the EZX directory back, and then the SD3 plugin will allow you to set the correct path. The installation logic seems to be that the installation path is set in the SD3 plugin, and then the Product Installer reads that path from somewhere. That is totally backwards. The installation path should be set in the Product Installer.
