Hello,
I would like to use EZDrummer 3 in live shows instead of a drum machine. But, I need to be able to start and stop easy drummer patterns with a footswitch. Is this possible ? If so, what equipment do I need to do this? Many songs have stops and starts within the song, so EZDrummer would have to stop and then re-start the pattern exactly when I hit the footswitch. Is anyone doing this? I’m a drummer myself (but I play guitar in this band) and I have an e-kit in my studio that I play to trigger EZDrummer—it works well for me. But I’ve never tried starting a pattern with a footswitch. Thanks for your help—Dan
The nearest I know is to make the MIDI into audio and play that onstage. I’ve been doing the same for the last few years. The audio tracks are on a spare phone, patched into the stagebox or mixing desk. A Boss FS-1-WL footswitch, Bluetoothed to the phone, is how I do the stop/start/next track/previous track.
Thanks Mick—-Your reply is very helpful. I thought about that, but I wasn’t sure if you could start and stop digital audio accurately enough in the middle of a song. I’ll give it a try—Thanks again—Dan
