I am guessing you can’t, since the cymbals were sampled with stereo microphones in only one position. But is there a trick or a workaround I’m not aware of?

Hi,
you can right-click a cymbal > More > Route Instrument Microphones… then click the routing for the Close microphone and select ‘Create New Channel’ at the bottom of the list. This creates a new Mixer Channel for the Close signal which you can pan separately.
You may want to disable the bleed in the other Mixer channels, to avoid strange cross-panning of your Cymbal. Alternatively, you may want to create new channels for e.g. the AMB bleed, etc to pan accordingly.

Thanked by: jakeonthegoThank you for the reply John.
Are you saying that every single cymbal has been close-mic’d as well? Wow that’s excellent. In this particular situation mic bleed is essential to the sound so I won’t be able to use this but it’s great to know, thanks!

Well, not separately close (as in a dedicated single mic) Mic’d as well, the Close Mic is the Stereo OH Mic but since they are sampled separately, you can create new Channels for each Instrument, to treat them separately in the Mixer, like e.g. panning or EQ’ing.
You could even make a separate instrument pad for e.g. the Bell only from your Ride and have that articulation on its own Channel for special treatment.

Ok that makes sense. It doesn’t really help my case but it’s good to know!
