Use AfterTouch messages. If you have an e-drum kit, it’s simply a matter of pinching the cymbal pad.

    It won’t be recorded though.

Is your host filtering out Aftertouch messages? Some hosts do just that by Default, which host are you using?

I too would like to know how to choke cymbals. I do not have e-drums. I choose grooves in EZD2, create a song, then drag the complete song into Reaper. In Reaper I open the midi editor for the drum track to customize the grooves or do any fine tuning.

So how do I do cymbal chokes in Reaper’s midi editor?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

sorry I missed your follow-up question. You should be able to just use the Mod Wheel.
