hi,
sorry, I should not pst technical problems here but in the support forum, BUT i can’t because I would need to activate my product which i can’t.
Why? Because I can not even finish installation.
It always stops with an error message:
It says it can not find a file MACHINE/TOONTRACK/SUPERIOR. Internal Error 27555.
I am trying to install in a vista 64 bit environment.
Can anybody help me out?

WI redistributables.
In other words, it’s clearly a Windows Installer issue, which hopefully can be resolved with (re)installing (even if only to repair the existing version) the WI redistributables.
I am not sure how to do this, as the installer is not avaiable for vista service pack 2 (from the microsoft pages online).
I think that is because SP2 includes WI 4.5.

no, Vista shipped with version 4.0:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa371185%28v=VS.85%29.aspx
Anyway, the latest available, 4.5.6002.18005, is included in Vista SP2, but well, if that’s the version implicated here, it does not behave properly on this particular system… I’ve looked up in details the MSI and it is not an unfortunate misconfiguration of the installer at our end, it is truly an oddity on this particular system that we have no control over.

please do, although we may be clutching at straws, right now that’s the only suggestion I can make.
… one thing that I have noticed from your screencast however, is that you have UAC turned off. I doubt it will help, but I would definitely try again when it is ON (reboot required), to make sure that the registry access granted is ‘as intended’ for Vista.
If it’s still fails after that then please do the following:
Start Menu > Run: (type) ‘cmd’
at the prompt type ‘msiexec’
… at least we will know what version is giving us a headache in this instance.

back at home!
installing the 32 bit installer worked.
Isn’t that strange?
Should i still re-install the windows installer 4.5?
wtf— after installing the 32 bit version the 64 bit installer worked too.
gotta try it out now in my daw.
strange bug.
edit: one last question: in my vst folder only the 32 bit version appears. how can i select the 64 bit version, having finally managed to install both?! thanks a lot!
Don’t forget that you have to create a path to the 64 bit version of EZmix or SONAR will not scan it with the VSTplugin scanner.
I believe you will find it at C:Program FilesVstPluginsToontrack64bit if you used the default install.

very strange, but very glad it works – somehow.

yeah, not sure what happened. is there anything more we could do to find the reason for the installers behaviour? or do you want to let it rest for the moment?
