EZD2 will not trigger your samples. Superior Drummer 3 will.

Thanks for the info!   So, there’s no way of importing your own samples into EZDrummer?

I don’t know if I want to upgrade to SD, because I find EZDrummer so easy and enjoyable to use.  I know and like the workflow of EZD.   Can you load your own samples into SD?

I know that if I upgrade to SD it will recognise all my EZXs and EZDrummer midi packs I bought, but I just don’t know if I want to learn another workflow or if SD is just that much better to be worth it.   Whats your opinion?

I got EZDrummer to trigger another drum machine I have, I might just be content with that.

As I said , SD will.

I’d recommend  SD to anyone who has the cash, is an edrummer, needs more mix features, or needs the few extra perks that ez doesn’t have.

EZ can do a lot of advanced stuff using a bunch of workarounds, it depends if you want to go through the extra effort or not.

Ok, thanks.   I understand I can import all the EZXs into SD from EZDrummer, and my EZDrumer midi(?)

I think there’ll be an crossgrade price of about $99 for Black Friday.  I don’t know if I’d be looking at spending that much, as there are workarounds for my issue.

And my old songs -my old projects- that worked with EZDrummer – will they load up with SD3?  Or, if I crossgrade to SD3, can I still use EZDrummer?

    Yes.

You can’t open an EZ project file with SD. I’m not sure if there’s a workaround for this besides simply exporting midi and re-importing it.

Yes, you will own both programs.

Is being able to use non Toontrack drum samples an essential need or are there other features you miss?

License transfer fees countervalue is $ 2,250.00
    (done...)

So my anger about the Toontrack license transfer fee introduced in June 2021 is not entirely unfounded...
