First I apologize, I’m a newbie to EZBass so please excuse this question if it’s been asked before.
I’m a songwriter and I can play a little bass. I have a P-Bass for standard tuning and an Ibanez set-up to play in C. What I was hoping EZBass could assist me with was playing around the chords of a song. So if a part of my song has the following progression G, G#, D, D#, I could input those (notes as played on my bass) into EZBass and it would improvise around that. I’ve played those notes on my bass and dragged the file into EZBass, but all it does is play the notes I played. Is there some way for it to generate interesting bass lines like a great bass player would do?
Thanks in advance for your responses.
Hi,
when your MIDI is on the Song Track and you select the Grooves view, you can Edit the Chords, Edit Play Style and Replace MIDI. The last one is more in line with what you’re after, if I understand you correctly.
Select the MIDI on the Song Track, not the Chords or Song Part and click Replace MIDI. Now the MIDI part will be influenced by the groove you select in your library but keep the chords. When you find something you like, click the Save changes button.
