Im currently using the “Djent” preset and I want to bounce separate tracks for the snare, bass drum, Toms, and cymbals. Since there is no way to bounce specific drums, it seems the only option is to bounce the outputs???
Since this preset uses compression buss’s and such, I could change each instrument buss to their own output. The problem is this changes the sound because u essentially are eliminating the parallel compression buss and others. Any solutions?

I am sending these tracks to other musicians so they can mix their own levels and such. Of course when I’m using these for myself I don’t need to do things this way. The process of soloing each kit piece and bouncing the only output (1/2) still allows for those buss’s to glue everything like normal. Have a great day bud

Reason: Grammar
No… it doesn’t. You’re only processing only one kit piece and not the entire kit. It will come out sounding very disjointed and unbalanced because the compressor will only be setting levels based on a single entity.

Sounds perfectly jointed and balanced to me, for my specific purpose ?

If your purpose is just to give it to the others to play along to, perhaps it will do. However, for a mix, I don’t think so.

Hello John
I’ve recently been trying to bounce out my drum files. This would not work in the way I expected from the set up page, so I looked to this forum to understand better on how this facility works. Referring to your “Best Answer” I wonder if I could ask you for clarification on a couple of points you made.
I don’t wish to bounce “per microphone” I only want to bounce from my Kick, Snare, Toms, Overheads etc. Busses. I found after choosing that option that SD3 would bounce out every individual channel mic first and then the Busses I wanted. When completed, the individual mic channel files then vanished from the desktop !! leaving only the mix Busses, fine. Is this the only way it works as it’s quite time consuming ?? I really would just like to bounce out the mix Busses if possible to speed up the process.
I also found that if I tried the other option you suggested, e.g. soloing a particular instrument (on the Drums page, do you mean drums mixer page?) The same process described above happened, all channels started bouncing out so I cancelled. It is difficult trying to understand the way this particular application is supposed to work, so if you can clarify it would be very helpful to me and I’m sure a lot of others.
Just one final question if you’d be so kind. Does the “bounce facility only work if you import the midi info into SD3 track or can it be made to work when the midi is still in the DAW in my case Logic X ??
I thank you for your time and patience John.
Kind Regards
Bob.
